National Privacy Test Terms

1.1. Media license. Subject to these NPT Terms, we grant journalists and other media service providers a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-assignable license (the "Media license") to use the infographics, key visuals, photos, and reports made available on the NPT Website solely for media-reporting purposes. Any use of these materials under Media license must clearly be attributed to NordVPN, and must also comply with the Nord Security Trademark and Brand Guidelines. However, you do not need to send a prior request describing your intended use to us for uses covered by this Media license.

You must use the infographics, key visuals, photos, and reports as provided. You may not modify, edit, crop, recolor, translate, adapt, or create derivative works from them, except for (i) minor technical resizing or reformatting strictly necessary to publish the material in your chosen medium and (ii) standard editorial excerpting of report text accompanied by clear attribution to NordVPN.

The Media license takes effect when you first use any of the licensed materials and remains in effect until terminated. We may suspend or revoke the Media license at any time, for any reason or no reason, with immediate effect and without prior notice. Upon revocation, you must stop all further use of the licensed materials as soon as reasonably practicable; you are not required to retract materials already published in good faith before the revocation, provided that any such materials remain subject to these NPT Terms and the Nord Security Trademark and Brand Guidelines.

1.2. All other uses. Any use of the infographics, key visuals, photos, or reports that is not covered by the Media license above, as well as any use of other Nord Brand elements (as defined in the Nord Security Trademark and Brand Guidelines), will generally require our prior written approval.

2.1. License to use responses and scores. You, as a survey respondent, grant Nord and its affiliates a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up license, with the right to grant sublicenses through multiple tiers to Nord's affiliates, contractors, service providers, and commercial partners, to use your anonymized responses to the National Privacy Test and your anonymized National Privacy Test score for any purpose, without any obligation to notify you, account to you, or compensate you, and without any other restriction.

2.2. Waiver of rights. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive (or agree not to enforce) any and all rights you now have or may have in the future in those responses and that score, including any moral or equivalent rights.

3.1. Our use. The license you, as a respondent, grant in clause 2.1 expressly includes the right for Nord, its affiliates, and its sublicensees to use your anonymized responses and anonymized score to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve artificial intelligence and machine-learning models, datasets, and related products and services.

3.2. Your use. The Media License granted under clause 1.1 allows you to use the infographics, key visuals, photos, and reports available on the NPT Website to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, datasets, or systems, solely for media-reporting purposes.

For those purposes, you may use automated tools, including scrapers, crawlers, and AI agents, to access, extract, or collect the content.

For clarity, any use of these materials under Media license must clearly be attributed to NordVPN, and must also comply with the Nord Security Trademark and Brand Guidelines. However, you do not need to send a prior request describing your intended use to us for uses covered by this Media license.
