National Privacy Test (NPT) is a digital security campaign that promotes cyber security and privacy among Internet users around the world. We seek to educate general public about cyber threats and the importance of data and information security in the digital age. We also provide practical advice on how to protect oneself and one’s devices against fraud, cyber bullying, surveillance, advertiser tracking, identity theft, viruses and many other problems encountered online.
The project is supported by NordVPN -- one of the leading privacy and security service providers, recognized for its strong commitment to promoting secure Internet with no censorship.
This research seeks to determine the global level of awareness about online security and privacy as well as to provide practical advice.
NPT has started this research on March 23, 2017 via an online survey of adult Facebook users, initially targeting English-speaking population.
OpenMedia is a community-based organization that works to keep the Internet open, affordable, and surveillance free.
